There it is, looming on the horizon.
That feeling of too much to do and not enough time to do it. Raise the kids, support your partner, work 40+ hours a week, clean the house, organize the stuff, volunteer your time, help a friend, get to all the sports activities and do it all well (or perfectly, if you obsess like me). So you prioritize and re-prioritize. Who needs sleep? You tell the kids, “You are not sick, you can’t be sick. You must go to school because I have a million things I have to get done today!”
Your family can thrive
instead of just survive!
I have lived this life. No matter how I re-prioritized, I could never get what I wanted to prioritize, to the top of my list – my family! When I did get a chance to breathe, I was concerned that the time I spent with my kids was ineffective, not helping them to grow and succeed in the ways I wanted. I would look around and see this crazy world where everyone was struggling in the same way. Hundreds of well-intentioned parents so divided by demands on their time that they are unable to focus on the in-depth needs of their family. Not because they didn’t want to, but because our culture makes it easier to spend an hour shopping with our children, to buy them the latest video game or take a trip to the ice cream store, than spending an hour learning how to teach our children to read or communicate before they can speak. So we rely on what we already know, do as our parents did and figure our kids will survive in spite of us.
This is what led me to start Blossom ‘n’ Thrive – to help well-intentioned parents, trying to do their best and concerned they are not giving their children what they really need to succeed.
How do you get your pre-verbal child to experience less communication frustration? How do you know if your toddler is ready for preschool? How do you support your creative child who needs to fly?
Our classes aim for simple, easy and effective techniques. Nothing that takes a lot of time. In every class we will brainstorm how we can fold specific strategies into everyday life. Is your pre-verbal toddler screaming when they want more? Look them in the eye and sign and say “more” every time and they will soon stop screaming and sign back. Will your toddler be ready for preschool? There are ten easy signs to look for. Is your creative child looking for an outlet? Our classes build on the creativity of their students no matter their age and embrace thinking outside of the box.
I know you don’t have a lot of time. I have been there. So I won’t waste your time. It only takes a moment to make an impression. And I will show you how to make the most of the moments you have.
What if I told you in just 45 min- 1 hour Blossom ‘n’ Thrive could give you insight into your interactions with your family that would make your limited time so effective that everyone would flourish instead of just survive! Our classes will enhance your understanding of your young child’s growth and provide you with simple, easy ways to help them thrive!
When I taught Kindergarten, something very interesting would happen every year. I would work very hard at teaching the class their letters and sounds. I would test them periodically to see how they were coming along. I would inevitably have a student miss a letter name or sound and look at me and say “My mommy has not taught me that one yet.” (Never mind that we, as a class, had learned it several times!) My point is that these five-year old’s see their parents as their lifelong teachers. They rely on you. Take the time to let your inner teacher blossom by joining a class today.
